New York Is Leading the Fashion Trends This Fall

Last month, a New York-based nonprofit organization, Global Language Monitor, launched an annual survey for the biggest fashion city. New York beat Milan this year, becoming the world’s first fashion capital. From 2004 to 2008, New York was reelected five times the winner of the charts, but in the last year, Milan, broken the monopoly of New York, thus ranking on top. This year, New York came back again, showing a glimmer of hope to the sagging U.S. economy. It is also providing the opportunity for everyone to look there for the newest fashion elements this coming fall.

New York: the new capital for fashion trend

Early in the 17th century, Dutch settlers, who came to North America to find a new paradise, started at New York as a brilliant place. Presently, New York still seems just like old time fashion capital. In fact, before World War II, New York designers were still slavishly imitating the great masters of Europe, Paris and London. Back then, New York was just a follower. The European fashion industry suffered a fatal blow during World War II. Famous Chanel (Chanel) boutiques were forced to close all their stores. Now, American designers have become “independent” and are finding their own fashion direction. Thus, the timing of the formation of the New York style is finally mature.

World War II, with the U.S. economy’s growth in strength, brought the gradual industrialization of the garment industry, the emergence of a group of talented designers made patterns and styles which changed in the world. New York stood out as the world forefront of fashion trends.

2004 was the first year of five consecutive years New York was voted to be the capital city of fashion trends. Each year the world’s top buyers, fashion designers, magazine editors, models, makeup artists, stylists, etc. gathered in New York Week with Beiqiyuehan Johnson (Betsey Johnson), Ralph Lauren (Ralph Lauren), Calvin Klein (Calvin Klein) as well as many other famous designers for a designer fashion show. This fashion shows brought in the total of approximately $ 253 million revenue for New York City.

Trend: fall fashion outlook

The New York Week festival is always at the forefront of fashion trend, six months ahead of the popular predictions. It gives you enough idea and time to prepare for the upcoming season’s fashion trends.

Tan lines

This fall, many brands have launched a tan line of clothing, including D & G, Marc Jacobs and Fendi (Fendi). On the Chloe show floor, the models show the fashion line from head to toe of the camel. Although the color is monotonous, it looks very modern and new. If you want to invest in a dress this season, a camel coat is a good choice.

Simple style

Some people jokingly say, “People enter the fashion industry because they do not want to wear clothes according to the company dress code.” However, this season seemed to open up everyone’s joke. Men’s suits and coats became a critical shape. The minimalist stepped forward again. On the Delaisifan Norton (Dries van Noten) show floor, the models wore oversized suit with black dress, with the first coat. Women showed more neutral feel. Stella McCartney (Stella McCartney) of the show, displayed the personal tailoring design, with no excessive jewelry, no fancy stacked with. Simple style is very obvious.

Some designers also introduced to the ankle length skirt, such as Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. This new style, with a pair of comfortable low-heeled shoes, goes up, elegant, swaying, especially with style.

Layering

Despite the rapid development of minimalism, there are also some designers who use the more the better approach with patterns. J. Crew ‘s Jenna Lyons Fuxing and chief designer with sequins, wool, cashmere, denim dress her models; reggae & Boone (Rag & Bone, 2002, was founded in New York, men in jeans and started, then, female Celadon installed quickly by the general public gaze) is a shape with eight items of clothing. This kind of nomadic style layers of feeling. In Rodarte (Rodarte), you can see a sweater, skirt plus hand-woven blankets. This winter is not cold.

Box-shaped package (boxy bag)

Handbag this fall, will hit box-shaped package. However, improved version of the box-shaped bag, discard the grandmother’s subtle style becomes fashionable and avant-garde, Fendi, D & G Dior and other big names also have a similar design.

At the show, LV a retro-style box-shaped packages this trend to the limit. The use of bold handbag leather with embroidery and precious and a simple box-shaped bag body length ratio and the hand with a big fuss, crisp bag body is a lot to love. Hermes (Hermes) SWIFT calfskin bag, moderate volume, firmness of outline, this package can be said to be able to accommodate items of the treasure chest.

T-station to lead the trend of fall fur designers have also been used for bags, LV, and Michael Kors’s works are eye-catching with the use of gray and black fur to create a beautiful checkerboard pattern.

Knee boots

Jackboot is a very practical winter boot. Last year, much like New Yorkers, it was popular again. Jackboot Ji can provide a full range of warm as well as protect the legs. The slightly loose style of the jackboot on the legs can be a slightly modified form. The jackboot 2010 autumn and winter boots add a more decorative design, and flat over knee boots style is increasing, but also greatly increased the wear and with the nature of the real.

Chloe orange flat knee boots and Valentino bow decorated high-heeled knee boots are a good choice. As an extension of style boots, stockings will also appear this year, if you do not like to be leather bound their knees, you can use the beauty of the boots or boots with stockings, warm, comfortable, which can also be a modified leg line.

Fashion in the Present

You know what the latest fashion is? This is not about the highly dramatized fashion launches that happen in fashion capitals like New York, Tokyo or Milan. Those are for the high and mighty. The latest fashion discussed here is the trend and style that has become recently popular in your community. As the world shrinks faster, the styles and trends catch on globally even faster. Fashionable styles and trends set in for two reasons. For the attractiveness and comfort the new trend or style provides. Trend usually evolves through use and adoption and style through mass media. Someone thinks of a fresh way to design and wear a dress with new adornments or styles and if it is eye catching and comfortable to wear, the general public emulates it.

Fashionable wear has evolved from human being’s compulsive need to be different. Uniforms can be termed as the precursor to fashion trends. Uniforms were used to convey affiliation to a collective or an ideology. Basically, advertising the person’s belief or affiliation. From there it spread on to different classes of humanity, different occupations and different age groups. Freedom of expression accentuated the yearning for recognition. Mannerisms and dressing is the nonverbal way of expressing yourself. People think of new ways to express themselves and create new styles. When a new way of dressing appeals to mass public, trends form. Herd instinct kicks in and public emulate the new ways of dressing.

Fashion was considered the domain of the leisure class. Those groups of people who do not have to sweat earning their daily bread or rather who does not sweat at all: The ‘silver spoon’ class. To amuse themselves and to show the world what they are, they used to indulge in finding new ways to drape themselves and hear the ‘ooh!s’ and ‘aahs!’ from common people. Fashion was a statement of decadence. The nineteenth century US economist Thorstein Veblen even goes as far as to state that the clothes should not only be expensive but should make it apparent to the casual observer that the wearer engages in no productive activity. Take that for a fashion statement, father of conspicuous consumption! Gradually the scene changed with the nouveau riche taking part in cultural activities. As this class had earned their wealth and not inherited their fortunes, their fashion had a practical side to it. Conceivably they were the trend setters for fashion to fuse with practicality.

Those are old stories. As any other event in human history, fashion evolved and changed faces many a times. The renaissance and industrial revolution enhanced the disposable income of the so called common man. Conspicuous consumption was no more the exclusive domain of the rich. The common man had the time and money to indulge. And the advent of visual media sped up the spread of trends and styles. People wanted to look better and feel better. With money to spend it was not too difficult. Businessmen with the right sense and timing took advantage of the situation and brought the fashion to common mass through mass production techniques. The result is what we see today. Designer fashion wear available for mass consumption.

Being fashionable is good and fashion is a statement of personality. It projects your personality and tastes. Though some trends may catch on for the wrong reasons, all trends are for the common good.
